Questions before you book the call?
Here are the answers most business owners want before deciding whether SMK is worth a conversation.
How much does SMK cost?
Core Accounting starts at $750/month, Controller at $1,500/month, and CFO / Strategic Finance at $3,000/month. Final pricing is fixed and tailored to scope and complexity.
Do you provide bookkeeping?
Yes. SMK can oversee existing bookkeeping or provide full-service bookkeeping where needed. Full-service bookkeeping is separately scoped.
Is corporate tax included?
T2 corporate tax preparation is generally quoted separately as an annual fixed fee unless specifically included in your proposal.
Do you provide payroll?
Yes, where needed. Payroll is separately scoped.
Do I have to use QuickBooks Online?
QBO is SMK’s preferred platform, but good-fit businesses using other modern accounting or ERP systems can still be considered.
Do you work outside the GTA?
Yes. SMK markets primarily in the GTA but can work with suitable businesses across Canada.
Do you do personal tax returns?
SMK’s launch focus is business accounting and business tax, not standalone personal tax preparation.
Do you perform audits or review engagements?
No assurance engagements at launch.
What happens on the discovery call?
We spend 30 minutes understanding your business, current setup, what is not working, and the level of support you may need. There is no obligation.
Will you need access to my accounting system before quoting?
Sometimes. If the condition of the books materially affects scope, we may recommend a short diagnostic before finalizing pricing.
